D. Craig Young, Ph.D.
Craig is Director of cultural resources studies and research at Far Western’s Great Basin Branch in Carson City, Nevada. Although focused on the Great Basin, Craig works throughout western North America where he specializes in archaeological excavation, geoarchaeology, and paleogeography. His broad research interests include paleo-landscape interpretation, environmental processes affecting the archaeological record, and people’s interaction with a changing landscape. Having worked in and around the Basin for over 20 years, he continues to be fascinated and challenged by the region’s natural history and its compelling archaeological record.
